How it works

Publisher supply

Read the page, not just the report.

The publisher observer loads a publisher page as a real browser would, finds its ad slots and how the page sells them, and notices when that changes. Observations like these build, over time, into a wider view of publisher supply.

  • The publisher page shown is fictional, used to demonstrate product behaviour
  • Scroll through it, or stop and it plays on

See

See delivery. Understand the supply behind it.

  1. Delivery signals

Spend, pacing, viewability and outcomes arrive from the connected media platforms. Platform data shows what happened.

  2. 01 Live page

Publisher observation helps explain the environment behind it. It starts with one live publisher page.

  3. 02 Visit and render

AfterBid loads the page as a real browser would, so the page’s own code runs. No publisher integration required.

  4. 03 Scan

The observer reads the rendered page from top to bottom.

  5. 04 Ad slots

It finds every ad unit and measures it. This page carries four.

  6. 05 Signals

Then how the page sells that space: context, ad density, Prebid, the ad server, refresh.

  7. 06 Supply path

And who is authorised to sell it. Direct and reseller paths, checked against ads.txt and sellers.json.

  8. 07 Day 2, day 9

By day 9 the same page carries two more ad units, and refresh is switched on.

  9. 08 Into AfterBid

That change joins NOVA’s delivery signals.

  • Context camera phone reviews
  • Ad density 4 units, then 6
  • Prebid
  • Ad server
  • Refresh off, then on

Publisher observation

From one page to a wider view.

  1. Each observation adds to a wider picture. Over time, page-level changes build into a view of the supply a campaign buys from.

  2. Inventory

    Intelligence across the publisher landscape.
